The BCSPCA refused to help with a sled dog rescue in Terrace BC *LINK* *PIC*

There is a complete chronicle (pictures and detailed blog entries), of the rescue, rehabilitation, vetting and eventual rehoming of the 50 so-called 'Sherrif's Dogs' that Turtle Gardens stepped up for on October 7, 2007 - each and every one a 'Sled Dog'. It is on their blog site - the link is at the bottom of this message.

If you read the daily entries starting on October 7, 2007 and continuing beyond January 2008 (and I really, seriously suggest that you do take the time because it is an astonishing story), you will see what essentially just three people were able to achieve with these 50 sled dogs in terms of restoring them to health and then turning the vast majority of them into wonderful family dogs (some of the very elderly went to SAINTS and Turtle Gardens has kept I think, two or three that were not deemed adoptable because of extreme fear issues).

Yes, other small rescues stepped in to take one or two dogs each after Yvette and Dave and Stan of Turtle Gardens and a few local folks did the initial rescuing, vetting and stabilizing, (e.g. B.C. German Shepherd Rescue, SAINTS and DDB in Terrace), however, this was essentially the story of what one very small Rescue with virtually no money was able to achieve. The BCSPCA refused to help, although you have to read between the lines to know that, because as is widely understood, so many small Rescues have learned to keep their mouths shut and take care of the dogs or it is death for the dogs .

This situation was the beginning of my association with Turtle Gardens. I hope I have been able to give you the direct link to the October 7, 2007 page, however, if not - scroll over to the right and down to the bottom of the screen to find the prior years' blog entries. Start with October 7, 2007. http://www.turtlegardens.org/2007/10/page/4

Rescuers all over BC have been terrified into silence by the SPCA
AAS has saved 20 years of proof of this
SPCA threats, intimidation and retribution
I invite all BC rescuers to stand up and have the courage to tell what they know about the SPCA
Is there a way to get rid of Bob Busch? *LINK*
