As a dog owner I'm totally in support of the city of Vancouver toughening up enforcement when it comes to dogs, especially, enforcing the leash laws. I really don't understand why someone thinks it's ok to let their dog run wild anywhere and everywhere. I hate to say it but most of the un-leashed dogs I encounter are totally untrained and not in their owner's control. If I hear one more owner yelling from afar "oh don't worry he's/she's friendly" I'm going to scream. Did they ever stop to think that maybe my dog may take exception to being charged by their dog, friendly or not. Smarten up people, not everyone loves your dog as much as you do. Let's respect everyone's rights while using our parks etc. Keep your dog leashed except in designated off leash areas.
