Too many questions...too few answers. The BC SPCA's web site says it is "open, transparent and accountable". But it will not even confirm to people that their letters, sent to the Board of Directors, have actually been sent to Board members. We think we can see some of the reforms that we demanded of the SPCA back in 2000 when we built the AAS web site, but not one of our questions about policy or figures has ever been openly answered and we began asking in 1998 in letters to the then-president, Al Hickey and the CEO of the Vancouver SPCA, Douglas Hooper (the man who lost his job after the Sun newspaper revealed he was making over $203.000 a year). Nothing the SPCA does is deserving of trust when it is still so secretive.
