Saying that killing animals is compassion is "pathological"

"However, the belief that PETA’s unconscionable actions are in support of animal welfare, and the idea that they are any way reducing suffering, is pathological.”

AAS has exposed the BC SPCA for using this common P.R. lie to justify the killing of tens of thousands of healthy animals a year in its pet disposal business.

It accepts all the public's unwanted animals, sells the sellable, kills the unsellable and then calls the killing "compassion" because it is better than the animal being caged at an SPCA for long.

The SPCA hired a lot of poorly educated women who love animals (almost everyone of them says they wanted to be a veterinarian), told them that killing is compassion, trained them in killing methods, but not in animal health, or the ethics of animal welfare, and paid them very low wages to do the killing. If they started to object, they were sometimes harassed into quitting. Most burn out and quit eventually. They tell us that they can't forget the eyes of some of the healthy dogs and cats they killed, who looked into their souls and asked, "Why are you doing this?" These poor women sometimes never figure out that they have been used,

Those who keep doing this for decades are not to be forgiven. Those at the top who run this animal disposal business, are not to be forgiven either. They must be replaced if the BC SPCA is ever going to be honest and do real animal welfare. The survival of the BC SPCA depends on these people being replaced.
