Gail Moerkerken of Big Heart Rescue of BC (dog rescue, rehabilitation and rehoming) and of Noah's Wish Foundation (U.S. and Canada: animal rescue in natural disasters) has left for New Orleans. We don't envy Gail what she is going to see and have to deal with, but she is an amazing woman and will help to save many animals and will find the best in what she does. Gail kept the WatchDog Post updated on the fabulous rescue work Noah's Wish did during the fire storms in the interior of BC in 2003. Communication in disaster-struck New Orleans is almost non-existent, but we hope that somehow Gail is able to send us reports.

Gail is also being sued by the BC SPCA for defamation. She is a brave woman who acts and speaks according to her principles. And she always has her facts.
