In the past, the SPCA always made sure that it didn't offend big money and the average Joe donator who thinks that anyone who sees cruelty in rodeo is a dangerous "animal activist", by making any statements against the big players in the animal-use industry.

With the SPCA you always have to wonder who it is playing to, but in this case we are happy to give the SPCA the benefit of the doubt and so we can say that this announcement is right and very welcome.

Now...for the Vancouver Aquarium and the Grouse Mountain Bear Zoo. Lots of big money and government with those two. We hope the SPCA stands up on its hind legs and speaks against them too, and it can't be too soon.
