"Rabbit Hutch" Hoyka will be on the noon news today so please watch and spread the word. BCTV channel 11 - Pet of the week on the noon news hour. I was called about him as there are plans to have him put to sleep tomorrow.....he's been around a long time and is older and is going stir crazy in the kennel. He's just great when he's out (can't balme him) If anyone knows anyone who can foster him, that would be awesome. I know it's a long shot but I thought I'd ask anyways. It was my feeble attempt to have him find a home by tomorrow. I was called about him yesterday by another volunteer so I thought I would see if I could ask if I could get him onto the news. Luckily he will be, so hopefully it will be a new beginning for him. Another volunteer is picking him up and driving him over today to the station. Also, maybe it will help to give him more time. He is 7years, GSD/lab mix, black. I just watched the show from work as well and was so surprised that it was mentioned that his time was up. Hopefully if it is, he will enjoy his day out with Malita today and she'll stuff him up with some hamburgers or a special treat.

"Beverly Badke Regional Coordinator AMHL" HUH ...well why even have him on the news then? They could at least give him a week to see if the news generates any possible homes for him.

"katt007" Just saw the show, I was impressed that Drever didn't mince words and did come out (altho crying and barely able to talk ) and say, this was his last chance, or he was going to be euthanized. People need to be reminded that this still happens. He looks like a wonderful guy. Thanks to Rabbit Hutch, this may get him his home. Fingers crossed for Hoyak.

"Rabbit Hutch": I am so happy now - I could just die. I just can't believe how things work out..... The volunteer who took Hoyka down, called me and said that before they even left the building, a family came down with the kids & their dog and everyone met him and got along famously. The dad will go to the shelter tonight to meet him. If all goes well, he will have a family & dog pal and a huge yard. If it doesn't work out, there are a few more calls for him as well.
