When thirteen SPCAs are being threatened with a decrease in their operating funds, and having their services reduced, it surprises me that Saltspring Island's SPCA, a cat and rabbit only
branch, remains.

There is the perception that this is an island with many wealthy people, and the local CAC are very good fundraisers.

Imagine the local donors' outrage if Saltspring's
SPCA closed, or was turned over solely to their hard-working volunteers (who do so much of the work).

But the SPCA will cut services in other areas of BC - the ones where the services are most desperately needed.
