VANCOUVER/CKNW(AM980) - The issue of whales and dolphins at the Vancouver Aquarium will be front and centre at the Vancouver Park Board tonight.
COPE Park Commissioner Loretta Woodcock will move a motion calling for a plebiscite in 2008 on whether the mammals should be there at all.

She says the people of Vancouver should make the decision, not politicians.

Woodcock says a common sense approach is needed to end the constant debate.

Earlier this month, the aquarium announced plans for expanded whale and dolphin facilities in the park with completion scheduled by the 2010 Olympics.
