While I understand wanting to save the lives of puppies why not save some of the pitbullX puppies on the reserves close to the Victoria SPCA?
There are plenty in need of rescue if anyone cares to look, and Tyson has been at the Victoria SPCA for close to a year or more and no home has yet been found for this lovely boy...
These puppies will grow up and be adults soon enough...
Again, the screening process...the screening process is said to be thorough...I certainly hope so because many of our adult BC Pitbulls cannot find homes and languish in facilities throughout the Province of BC.
Bach is a prime example of a pitbull who ended up being sent from the Victoria SPCA to Atlanta along with other pitbulls that there were no homes for in the Victoria area, by kind souls who knew he deserved the best of homes and he received exactly what was meant for him...a loving home for the rest of his life...BC could not provide him with one... But what about the other five? Where did they end up?
I hope the Victoria Branch of the BC SPCA remember Tyson and remember Bach and all the others when finding homes for these pups as they will likely not survive a second chance.
There are great homes for puppies everywhere, and good homes for adult pitbulls almost nowhere. Shouldn't the SPCA's mandate be to help the most needy not the most sellable?
