In a Vancouver Sun article of April 2004, "BC SPCA: A prison camp for animals", columnist Barbara Yaffe interviewed BC SPCA CEO Craig Daniell and wrote, "The SPCA takes in 57,000 animals a year. It does not have statistics on the number that get euthanized although it is working on compiling them for The Vancouver Sun. "

We have not heard that the Sun has ever received the statistics
