Where does Jerry figure in the BC SPCA's "Strategic Plan"?

Thank you Gail and Big Heart Rescue for giving Jerry the immediate hands-on attention that so many animals in our province are in desperate need of.

I was just plowing my way through the longwinded latest version of the BCSPCA's Strategic Plan, and barely made it to the end before my eyes went numb in their sockets and my brain blearily sank in the quagmire of categories and sub-categories and references to prior categories and points and circles and arrows and numbers and...well you get the picture.

The point is, rescuing animals is NOT rocket science. It would be so nice if the BC SPCA would just put down its pencils and get to work.

You and I Gail, and countless other little shoestring budget animal rescue organizations only use one pencil and one person to figure out how to help as many animals as we can. Actually, most of us don't even use the pencil, we use our brains and our hearts, but most of all we use our pragmatism.

Hard work and pragmatism is what helps animals. Strategic plans look very important, and may help to make others THINK that you really are busy getting to work, but I remain skeptical that it's mostly still window dressing at the BC SPCA.

In the end, Jerry was rescued by the hard work and pragmatism of a small-budgeted rescue organization with a very big heart. The SPCA is probably still trying to figure out what subcategory of its new Strategic Plan he would be
eligible to receive assistance under.
