I am pleased to see the note in Rodeo's bio which makes it very clear that she "would not do well as an outside only dog".Rodeo's adoption information is correctly educating potential adopters what is expected of them in terms of meeting the needs of their new family member. In my opinion,no dog does well as an outside only dog. A family which is in the process of considering the adoption of a canine family member should take the necessity of indoor living as a given - not an option. Any references by the BCSPCA branches to outdoor living as a suitable or encouraged living arrangement should be removed from the specific web sites immediately.
Now that the BCSPCA has established indoor living as a criteria for an approved adoption, follow up and a zero tolerance policy for outdoor only living, can become part of the adoption contract, and therefore an enforceable condition which must be adhered to as part of the signed adoption agreement.
