April 24th is World Day for Animals in the Laboratory

Every year, millions of animals suffer and die in scientific experiments:
many people think that this is necessary if we are to advance medical research and prove the safety of the products we use. In fact, the results obtained from basing human medicine and toxicity levels on animal models have led to disastrous consequences for humanity and the discarding of many possible cures. It doesn't have to be this way!
Find out how you can help save animals AND humanity.
Please join us for an upbeat, informational rally on Monday, April 24th outside 200 Granville Street in Downtown Vancouver at 11:30a.m. to 2:00p.m., rain or shine! Bring a
friend, an animal mask or costume (think dog, cat, mouse, rabbit, pig, goat, sheep, chicks, guinea pig, horse - all of these and others are routinely used in scientific experiments on live subjects), bring a balloon, and above all bring an open mind.
If you can, please download the poster for World Week for Animals in the Laboratory from the Lifeforce Foundation website and bring copies to hand out. Check also the website of the AD-AV Society of BC or contact its president Karl Losken losken@telus.net
And pick up a copy of the updated Guide to Compassionate Charities that goes along with our theme:
"You don't have to be cruel to be kind. Support only nonanimal research. Visit www.HumaneSeal.org
Homemade or computer printed signs stating just that would be most appreciated!

Charles Mayo, Co-Founder of the Mayo Clinic, said as far back as 1961:
"I abhor vivisection. It should be abolished. I know of no achievement through vivisection, no scientific discovery, that could not have been obtained without such barbarism and cruelty. The whole thing is evil."

(New York Daily News 3/13/61)
It's more than time we put vivisection out of its misery.
