Best to leave sturgeon alone
Editor:
It's wonderful that Marc Laynes of Cascade Fishing Adventures tags and releases any sturgeon he catches, but wouldn't it be best to just leave the endangered fish alone?
Every time a fish is caught there is a significant risk of causing permanent damage to its mouth, and if a fish can't eat it dies.
Sturgeon populations are low enough already. There's no need to put even more at risk.
Letting a sturgeon live in peace won't fill tour operators wallets or get their picture in the paper, but it's the right thing to do.
