I got an interesting phone call tonight from a research firm called Synovate. I don't normally participate in surveys, but this one was a series of questions about whether I supported the "expansion and revitalization of Stanley Park and the Aquarium". The survey took about 15 minutes to complete. I strongly opposed anything to do with making the aquarium bigger or bringing in ANY captive or wild animals. The only question I said I somewhat agreed with, was bringing in an injured animal for rehab and then release back to the wild. They asked about restaurant styles preferred, tree removal, entertainment venues, and how I felt about the circumstances under which a whale or dolphin might be brought in.
I was pleased to see firsthand that this survey was being conducted, and that it went outside the Vancouver boundary.
