Two teens face charges in abuse of pet dog

Calgary -- Two men, aged 19 and 17, are facing criminal charges in connection with what police described as a horrendous case of animal abuse after a dog was discovered Sunday in Didsbury, Alta., with its muzzle and legs bound with duct tape and a rope around its neck.

RCMP said yesterday that the dog, which was believed to be a family pet of the older teen, was so badly hurt it had to be euthanized.

The pair are charged with injuring and endangering an animal as well as causing unnecessary suffering to an animal.
