Updates on Baby Brann, hit by a car and left to die *LINK* *PIC*

Foster or Sponsor Brann !

Baby Brann was run over by a car and found days later hiding in the bush in Bella Bella. This little girl was rushed to our vet in the lower mainland via Pacific Coastal Airlines to determine the extent of her injuries. The vet discovered that Brann has a crushed pelvis, and one hip joint has been torn out of the socket which has caused nerve and muscle damage.

Brann has been prepped for surgery and the great staff at Critical Care will be operating on her tomorrow (Sept. 11th) morning in hopes of restoring her ability to walk.

Please light a candle for this sweet survivor. We are now accepting donations to support the estimated cost of $5000.00 to $6000.00 to repair her little body. Fundraisers and special events are being held to raise the funds to pay her bills. Please help us help Brann!

Update: September 13th

Baby Brann endured seven hours of surgery and a blood transfusion but has come out of it all like a star!

The veterinary staff at Critical Care feel that though Brann has a long way to go, she should be able to lead a very happy and healthy life.

The Big Heart Rescue team wish to thank all those that sent their best wishes for her speedy recovery, financial donations and emotional support!

On Friday, Brann will be moved to her medical rehabilitation foster home and we are on the search for another skilled foster family that would be willing to look after Brann once she is stabilized.

This dedicated family will need to live in the lower mainland so Brann can continue her visits to Critical Care, be home most of the day and be willing to accept tons of kisses and love from a very special girl.

Update: September 16th

Brann was discharged from Critical Care yesterday and has arrived at her medical rehabilitation foster home to much fanfare!

Her physical therapy has begun and it may take months to ensure her legs and hips are working to the best of their ability but with baby Brann's determination, the support from her vets, physio and swimming coaches we believe this little girl will have a fantastic recovery.

Lots of tail wags and kisses have been provided by Brann and its only been a few days since she under went such a traumatic surgery, just imagine what she will be like once she is on the road to recovery!

Big Heart Rescue wishes to once again thank all those who have participated in Brann's recovery and while we have raised some funds towards her surgery costs we still have a long way to go!

Update: October 7th

This amazing girl continues to astound everyone with her desire to be a healthy and happy pup!

She is under-going three hours of in-home physio on a daily basis and will soon be receiving water rehabilitation and laser treatments to help increase her physical abilities.

If you wish to help sponsor Brann, your tax deductible donation would most certainly be put to good use.

Updates will continue as Brann continues to heal.

Update: October 14th

Brann is doing as well as can be expected and will begin her water and laser therapy shortly.

She will also be fit for a custom made brace to ensure her good leg is stabilized and strong enough to help her recover from such massive injuries.

Currently Brann receives three hours of in-home therapy and while walking is still a challenge she is definitely improving in both body and spirit!

Though this little girl has been through so much, she continues to amaze all the special people in her life with her kindness and warm nature.

Update: October 26th

Baby Brann is now being fit with a new brace that will support her good leg and keep it strong and straight while her other hip repairs.

This darling girl has come so far in such a short time and she continues to demonstrate that she has the strongest will to be a happy and playful pup!

Currently Brann is under-going three hours of physical rehab in her loving foster Mom's home and will soon be attending therapy where she will be walking on a underwater treadmill to strengthen all her joints and ensure she has a bright and happy future ahead of her.

Because of all the support Big Heart Rescue has received Brann is alive and well, loved and cherished as all companions should be.

We hope to see you all at Brann's fundraiser on October 28th at the Golden Spike Pub in Port Moody!
