Feral Cats Major Bird Killers

This also was a letter in the Parksville/Qualicum News. No wonder it's so hard to make positive changes.

Feral cats are major bird killers

Oct 24 2006

I would like to commend the SPCA for their policy on feral cats.

Feral cats come from the homes of people who supposedly love animals and therefore do not have the heart to put down excess litters of kittens so they simply turn them loose.

They are a non-native invasive intruder that destroys wild native songbirds by the hundreds every year.

If the people that have been condemning the SPCA really do love all animals as they say they do, they would be congratulating the SPCA for doing their part in protecting Vancouver Island native species from these killers of wild creatures.

When will people ever learn that if the creator did not put an animal or plant here then it does not belong here?
