WEST VANCOUVER - West Vancouver police and the SPCA are investigating the stabbing death of a dog on the Capilano Reserve.

Police were informed of the incident shortly after the stabbing and found the owner comforting his pet, a German shepherd cross.

The dog was bleeding heavily from the wound caused by an 20-centimetre knife. The animal was later put down.

West Vancouver police are searching for a suspect described as a dark-skinned, 23-year-old male, wearing a red sweater, black pants and a baseball cap.

When is the media going to get honest about the way Natives treat animals?
