Dog rescue is huge

The weather has been horrific here the last week and the last two days have seen -30 to -35 with the wind chill.

People still keep their pets outside....I can only imagine how many will freeze to death.

This is comforting news though - I met a fellow who told me about a farmer near here who has a huge barn that he heats...right now he has 100 rescued dogs...these dogs were all rescued because they were left by their owners in the cold. He keeps them for the winter then searches for proper homes for them. A friend of mine told me about one of his co-workers who keeps her dogs outside....she doesn't even know that her dogs are gone!! rescued by another co-worker and taken to the 'barn shelter'.

Then I met a fellow (a very large fellow) who has been hired from time to time by a farmer in the Prince Albert area to retrieve dogs who may be hard to handle and that farmer also keeps the animals warm and fed for the winter.

So I am glad to see that some people here in this place are stepping up to the plate. There are probably lots of rescue organizations who covertly take these poor animals to save them from freezing to death.
