The GVAC "Vets for Pets" Street Clinics in Victoria continue monthly *PIC*

Greater Victoria Animals' Crusaders held their 9th monthly "Vets for Pets" Street Clinic yesterday, February 19th, 2007 at "Our Place" on Johnson St. The first one was June 12, 2006.

This month's clinic saw 20 cats and dogs who required different types of veterinary care. All the animal participants in the Street Clinic received complimentary (if needed) vaccines, Advantage (flea control), and Drontal (deworming).

GVAC is very grateful to Dr. Kam Brar of Lifeline Animal Clinic, 3581 Shelbourne Street, who examined and provided caring treatment for the 20 cats and dogs. His veterinary assistant Jennifer also goes beyond with her efforts.

Besides veterinary care GVAC tries to help those who want to help their animals by providing good food (both wet and dry), dog licenses, collars, leashes, muzzles and cat carriers etc. (Donations of these items are always appreciated.)

The stories that come with the animals vary greatly. From "Texas" (Rotti) who was the victim of a dog fight and will require much veterinary care (at Lifeline Clinic) to save him from the serious infection he has developed, to "Kitkat" (the cat) who was in for a brief recheck for the dental care she received at Dr. Brar's Lifeline clinic last month.

Squatty (below) was in for her 2nd vaccine, she has been seen regularily for checkups due to a leg injury and comes almost every month to ensure her health.
