Animal Advocates Watchdog

Cha Cha the Chow - Dear Renu, I had hoped to tell you a happy ending story... *PIC*

I had hoped to be writing you to tell you of a happy ending to a story much like Finnegan's. A story about an 18 year old Chow Chow who came to live with me two weeks ago. Instead, I am writing to thank you for the wonderful story you did for Finnegan and to tell you of another tale of people just walking past a dog and those who "speak for the animals" not speaking for him when they had the chance.

The link below is to a rescue site that several people who help needy animals post on for advice, help etc where his full story and many photos are posted.

Animal Advocates paid the vet bills. Others volunteered their time to groom him, and everyone reached out to this old boy once they knew about him.

I had really hoped to send you a happy ending story about a dog that had a rotten life but was now in a wonderful, caring home with other senior dogs, but Cha Cha never made it that far. He had a good few weeks with me in my little place but was too old, weak, sore, and tired to go to what I had planned to be his final home.

I am having a private cremation done for Cha Cha; that is what I and some friends have done to honor him. His ashes and a little memorial will be placed at the dyke where he lived, close to the house and yard that so many people walked past, where he endured so many years of loneliness. I thought he should be there, but not in that yard, on the beach that he looked out onto but could not get to all his life.

You really did a great job with Finnegan's story Renu. I know it touched many people. I hope more of them will stop and do more in the future to
help animals they see in need.
