The Theatre of the World exhibit at the Vancouver Art Gallery ["Art exhibit rejigged after SPCA involved," April 13] is cruel to animals and degrades the reputation of the gallery.

If the gallery is so desperate to attract attendance that it is willing to make lizards and snakes fight under the guise of art, it might as well continue its descent and start hosting cockfights and displaying pitbulls tearing into each other.

It's too bad; the gallery was once considered respectable and could be counted on to display art that was actually worthy of praise.
