BC SPCA Defamation Lawsuit against AAS of BC

Dear Sirs,

I am inquiring as to why the BC SPCA, a quasi public body with statutory powers but with charitable status, is using its financial resources to pursue a defamation lawsuit against the Animal Advocates Society of BC.

The public expects its donations to be used on animal welfare and programs which will help and benefit the many needy animals across the province.

Animal Advocates (AAS) can't use its donations to defend itself so how is it that the BC SPCA is getting away with it? I understand that there are a number of private legal actions that this organization has pursued and feel this is a matter that ought to be looked into.

Thank you.

Sincerely,
Carmina Gooch

Government seems to think that since the SPCA has been in operation for 112 years that it doesn't need to be looked into
