Big Heart Rescue and the Raincoast Foundation Partner for a Dog Health Program in Bella Bella *LINK*

Big Heart Rescue and the Raincoast Conservation Foundation have partnered to conduct a Dog Health Program in Bella Bella, BC.

Our aim is that the Dog Health Program be a positive, collaborative effort among researchers, veterinarians and community members that would benefit the healthy of dogs, humans and wildlife.

The Raincoast Foundation will be collecting blood and fecal samples to gain knowledge of disease, to improve the health of dogs and prevent the transmission of disease to humans and wildlife.

The Big Heart Rescue team and a vet will depart for Bella Bella on May 11th and a community forum on Dog Wellness will be held that evening.

The next day we will be holding a clinic where dogs will have a basic medical check-over, be de-wormed, de-flead and vaccinated.

In addition, Big Heart Rescue is anticipating the Canadian Animal Assistance Team (CAAT) to join us for a sterilization clinic in Bella Bella in the spring of 2008.

We continue to bring dogs and cats down to the lower mainland for sterilizations and are excited to participate with such amazing organizations who truly have animals best interests at heart.
