"Dogabet" the Dog Alphabet book now on sale! *PIC*

Written and Illustrated by Dianna Bonder

A few years ago, after I had completed the Accidental Alphabet, I began throwing ideas around for a new alphabet book. Having lived with dogs my entire life I felt that my canine friends would make for great material in a new book. It was with this inspiration I went on to write the Dogabet. As the idea transformed from just words on paper to actual illustrations and a story, I found myself very excited about the idea but not just in the literary sense. I realized early on, that I might actually be able to do something more than just write an alphabet book for children... I might actually be able to help the very creature I was writing about.

It was during the tragic events of hurricane Katrina that I began to feel quite introspective and wonder what I could do to help during such a disaster. When I saw the number of animals that were abondened during and after the hurricane, I felt an urgency to do something. That was when I realized that i could do something. I could raise some money and awareness through my book.

So with that, I contacted Noah's Wish Foundation, the animal rescue agency that was instrumental in the rescue of thousands of homeless animals during the Katrina disaster. It was Noah's Wish that set up shelters and temporary vet stations to assist with the medical needs of these starving and seriously dehydrated animals. It was also this same foundation that helped re unite thousands of pet owners with their beloved pets. Had it not been for Noah's Wish, many if not most of these animals would have surely perished under such extreme conditions.

The second foundation I decided to support is called Big Heart Rescue. They are specifically a Canadian rescue group that are currently specializing in the rescue, care, rehabilitation and adoption of dogs primarily in Bella Bella.

Dogabet is NOW AVAILABLE for purchase and the first 5000 copies have all sold out!
