A letter to the Albanian Embassy

The embassy's email: embassyrepublicofalbania@on.aivn.com, from this web site: http://www.embassiesabroad.com/embassies-in/Canada, and I also sent the original email to Peta, Info@peta.org, and to the World Society for the Protection of Animals, wspa@wspa.ca

To the Albanian Embassy in Canada:
I received the information from a friend and we found it very distressing. I have little information, beyond what you see below. I regret that I cannot tell you more so that this could be followed up more immediately. But I would like to implore that something be done, if at all possible, to protect these two helpless creatures from further suffering. Why is the wolf being held captive? Is the enclosure provided for it more adequate and appropriate than the photo seems to indicate? Is it being given any food other than the live food which it has chosen not to eat? Wolves are social animals and this wolf is probably suffering terribly from social isolation in addition to the rigours of captivity. In desperate circumstances, the donkey apparently serves it better as a companion than as food. It distresses us deeply that these two creatures are being shown so little compassion. I really don't know what to do, other than to communicate with your Embassy and ask if there is anything you could do.
Thank you for your time and attention to this matter.
Respectfully yours,
Mrs. Brigitta MacMillan
Maple Ridge, B.C.

"A donkey that was brought into an enclosure to be fed to a wolf that had been caught in Albania's northeren mountains four months ago has instead given village and local media food for thought. The donkey and the wolf have become seemingly attached to each other, cohabitating in the cage for the last 16 days."
