Most people are good at detecting blatant cruelty but most seem to be blind to the more latent forms of cruelty which thrive under the cover of good intentions and sentiments, what can be coined as affection. There is no benign relationship with a pet. Some relationships are less cruel than others, according to our own criteria, but they all have one thing in common: domination and control, the very negation of love and respect.
