Re: Dangerous Dogs: Required reading for Vancouver City Council

Thanks to AAS for posting the article written by Barbara Kay for the National Post. Kay makes very insightful, astute comments about an irresponsible segment of our society's predilection for owning and abusing dangerous breeds of dogs.

It comes at a timely moment when the first year anniversary approaches of the horrific mauling of a young Vancouver girl last December by two yard dogs.

I would recommend this article as required reading to all members of the Vancouver City Council so that they would perhaps finally understand and act upon the well-documented connection between unregulated puppy mills, mistreated, dangerous dogs and the risk to public safety.

It is sad and disturbing when one realizes that many more children will be viciously attacked and/or killed by dangerous dogs that the City of Vancouver, the SPCA and the news media already know about.

Dangerous Dogs: Certain dog breeds not only do most harm, but are harmed most

In one back yard there are two huge Rotties, in the other what look to be two pit bull crosses.

We have not ever suggested that any dog ought to be killed simply for being of a certain breed
