All pounds are full of pit bulls so it is probable that many of the dogs PETA killed were pit bulls. By killing unwanted pit bulls, PETA was helping to hide from the public the problem of pit bull abuse, abandonment and killing. Instead of mounting a campaign to tell the public about the evil of pit bull breeding, abuse, and then abandonment, PETA killed them. Now PETA is shamelessly milking the Vick story. Unethically milking sad stories is rife in the animal welfare industry - just one more abuse of compassionate people who give to all kinds of charities that are not what they appear from their own publicity to be.
