Why must the SPCA sell animals this way?

Why must the SPCA sell animals this way?

The answer is unlimited surrender. No shelter that takes all animals has the space or the money for them all so it must dispose of them as quickly and cheaply as possible. Disposal can be done by selling or killing.

If the shelter does no home checks and permits new owners to pass the pet on, again with no checks, then that is not adopting - that is selling. Especially when the pet is passed on with unresolved health problems.

The SPCA will never get itself out of the moral swamp that is unlimited surrender until it changes this policy, but it is our sad impression that no one at the BC SPCA , not the president, not the board, not the executive, understands what is wrong with unlimited surrender, or if any understand, they are unwilling to give up the income that full shelters attract.
