This grant was made by the Summerlee Foundation, a Texas based group with a special interest in animal issues and history. Grants are normally made in U.S. dollars, so this amount is probably worth around $34,000 Canadian dollars at last year's exchange rate. This should be an well-researched study and I hope that the results will be available to the public. Ideas are desperately needed to help with this problem.
