FROZEN DOGS: A letter to BC SPCA CEO Craig Daniell

Dear Craig Daniell cdaniell@spca.bc.ca
The Okangan has not seen the temperature rise above minus twenty in three days now. It is so cold that dogs' toes start to freeze within minutes of going outside.

The situation at the Coast is also bad, and I know you are aware that a dalmatian was found frozen to death in his dog house.

Please use your power to help animals now. Please use the media to tell the public that keeping dogs outside is unacceptable, and in this weather, deadly.

Please tell the public MORE than just how to "winterize" outside dogs. Tell the public that the BC SPCA will not tolerate the keeping of "outside" dogs at all - that to do so in this weather is cruelty, and that to do so at any time of year constitutes psychological neglect.

"If you neglect or abuse animals in British Columbia, the SPCA is going to find you and hold you accountable." Your words Craig.

Will you use the media now, and tell the public to bring its dogs inside before another one dies?
