Loki: sold by the SPCA to a grow-op *PIC*

Loki is a Chesapeake/Lab cross. He was at the Burnaby SPCA for a couple of weeks last May, before being adopted out. He was a great dog and a real favorite among volunteers.

And now? Loki was adopted to what turned out to be a grow-op and left to fend for himself in a yard. The Vancouver City Pound got him when the home was busted by the police. When he came in, he was incredibly stinky from his life as a yard dog

Loki is just one of thousands of dogs betrayed by their owner and then betrayed by the SPCA masquerading as animals' saviours. And VCP will betray him too, just as easily. We know that VCP volunteers have had to go out in the night to take dogs off chains that were adopted out by VCP.

Note that term 'adopted'. It is another of the SPCA's and VCP's semantics frauds. No animal that is given to an abuser is 'adopted", it is sold, plain and simple. VCP is still calling itself Canada's first no-kill pound, even though there is no official policy and it still kills dogs.

From the Burnaby SPCA website:

Loki has been adopted!

History
Loki arrived at the shelter, when sadly, his owners could no longer keep him. Like so many other Lower Mainlanders, they were unable to find pet-friendly accommodations, so poor Loki finds himself looking for a new home, with a new family.

Personality
Loki is an absolutely wonderful, all-round dog, with a great disposition! He would fit in well with all sorts of families and situations, provided he gets enough exercise (he needs to keep active). He's great with adults and kids alike. Loki is a retriever with dual citizenship - Chesapeake and Labrador - and as such, he probably LOVES both the water and retrieving twice as much as any other dog you're likely to meet. This boy is a world-class fetcher! You throw him a ball and he'll give an all-out, 110% effort to catch it. Even if he doesn't catch it right off the bat though, you can be darn sure he'll retrieve it, and when he does, he brings it right back and drops it gently into your hand, ready for the next throw. Loki absolutely lives for this game, so he'll need a home where he can have a daily period of play to keep him happy and healthy. He walks well on a leash and is very quiet and unassuming in his kennel ("Low-Key Loki"). He's unfortunately becoming stressed by shelter life, so we really want Loki to find a new home soon. If you're searching for a new best friend, look no further. You can't go wrong with this big, handsome, lovable boy, with the curly coat.

The SPCA's killing cannot end as long as the SPCA is a black hole for pet owners to dump their pets down
