Foster home needed for elderly pooch

Comox Valley SPCA is currently looking for a retirement home for a long-time resident.
Sheba, an 11-year-old lab shepherd cross, whose former family fell on hard times, has been here at the shelter since December 18, 2003.
She is a devoted family dog, who misses the companionship of an owner. She barks for attention in her kennel, desperate for human contact. She likes to play fetch, and go for short walks, despite her arthritic hips. She will sleep quietly beside her master's bed, and let them know when company arrives.
Sheba would love a "foster" home, with her food requirements and other needs paid for by the SPCA. If you could provide a foster or permanent home for Sheba, please phone the shelter for more details.

Now THAT'S animal welfare!
I hope it is one of many similar calls for help in the future from the SPCA branches in BC
