To My Dear Holly

After having you in my heart and home for five years, I made the difficult decision it was time for you to go to 'doggy heaven' or 'cross over the rainbow bridge' as many say. I could not stand to see you in the pain you were in anymore with the arthritis all along your spine. I always wonder, if you had not been 'sold' to people who kept you outside all the time for those first few years of your life with no proper exercise, if perhaps you would not have developed the arthritis. I also worried about your vehemence to 'go after' other dogs. Again if you had not been sold by a shelter to someone who obviously did not care about your welfare, perhaps you would have not experienced all the stress and anxiety you did, and would have been better socialized to other dogs.
I hope where you are now you have found peace both in your mind and body.
I loved you very dearly and to this day, I miss you terribly. I miss brushing your fur, and I miss your loving manner towards me, and I miss you.
As I told everyone, I would have rather go through my 24 hours of 'no drugs' birth labour again than go through putting you to sleep. It was the hardest thing I have ever done.

You will always be my 'Holly lollipop' and I will always love you dearly. Take care Holly,
