I live near and know this reserve very well

I live near and know this reserve very well. I know 3 natives that live on this reserve and the dog abuse that goes on is horrific. There are many many dogs that roam free and majority are large breeds (Rotty/Malamute/Husky) and majority are aggressive to humans and animals.

One of the people I know had 2 Rotties 'for breeding'. They roamed free, have taken down and eaten fawns, other dogs, and cats. The 'owner' did nothing about it and actually joked about how he never paid to feed them, UNTIL the bitch killed a litter. Then he shot her. The male was then chained in the backyard where he died from starvation. And all the neighbors could have cared less.

There are numerous agressive large breeds roaming this reserve right now as we speak and I have to agree with the SPCA's decision. I am actually shocked at the decision and that they did say no quite honestly. I have gone through the adoption process at the Victoria SPCA and no one even asked me for ID never mind checking where I live etc.

I wonder if this family was native or not because there are many non-native families that live on 'native land' right by that actual reserve. If they walked in and they were questioned because they were native then I have a problem with that. But if they were questioned because the SPCA actually knew the address as being from a problem reserve then I applaud them.
How could you adopt out a puppy to a neighborhood that has aggressive dogs roaming who kill other dogs???

I'm still shocked that they said no considering some of the now problem/roaming/aggressive dogs on this reserve originally came from the SPCA.
