don't bother complaining to the SPCA...
In Response To: Isolation Conditions ()

...they already know. They've known for decades. Thousands of well-meaning people, 99% of them women, have complained to the SPCA for fifty years. What good did it do? They patted the "ladies" on the head, and pretended to listen and then threw the complaints away and got back to business.

Tell what you know to someone who cares. Tell it to someone who will use your information to force the SPCA to change. Post it on this board, or email it to us. AAS has used the evidence of a few fearless women to force the 100+ year old, massive, respected, BC SPCA to reform. It is the power of women who are unafraid to speak out combined with the power of the web that has made this miracle.

Brigitta MacMillan (readers of the AAS web and message board will be familiar with how hard Brigitta has worked for two years to improve the Maple Ridge SPCA) sent many detailed letters of atrocities to the Vancouver SPCA and the BC SPCA and what happened? Nothing! Not until Brigitta allowed AAS to put her letters on its web site did anything happen. And she continues to fearlessly say what she sees at the Maple Ridge SPCA on this message board. The SPCA knows she is not going to accept doing nothing from them.

Gail Moerkerken is another woman from Maple Ridge that is determinedly and fearlessly persisting in her search for Odie and other with other questions of the SPCA and she is not going to "go away". She is not going to be fooled by the SPCA bosses patting her on the head and letting her believe that her opinion is valued, so that she will go away happy, and quiet. And perhaps even help the SPCA raise funds (so it can pay for its executives' new fitness rooms in its new offices).

Someday we want to build a web page dedicated to the women who have had the brains to speak out - loud and clear - and who have made spectacular achievements. Look at Gail's and Brigitta's pages from the link below...
