After many emails to the BC SPCA asking if the prosecutor has decided if charges are to be laid or not (this is not up to the SPCA - it is the SPCA's job to provide enough evidence for the prosecutor to feel that charges may go to court and the case may be won), and being told that the prosecutor still has not made up his/her mind, AAS asked the BC SPCA to give us the name of the proseucutor so that we could ask ourselves when a decision will be made.
After several months of asking we still haven't been told.
Would anyone in Victoria like to phone the prosecutor's office and see if they can find the name of the prosecutor that has the file from the SPCA on Scarlet and ask that person when and if a decision to prosecute has been made?
The person who makes the decision about whether to even present the Crown (a prosecutor) with a case is none other than John van der Hoeven, Director of Field Operations, BC SPCA. There is a lot of information about Mr van der Hoeven on this board, notably about Odie.
Mr van der Hoeven is infamous, at least to us and many of our sources, for stonewalling everything: answers to questions, prosecutions, complaints about the SPCA. He is the master of the black hole at the BC SPCA.
