'Meet the SPCA lawsuit defendants' (Please support AAS) *LINK*

I am somewhat embarrassed after visiting the AAS site so often that I had not, until just now, read the 'Meet the defendants' page. It is great to put faces to the names of you wonderful animal angels who look out for our animal friends in BC.

I would like to thank Lori Cumiskey, Jen Dickson, Barry Faires, Helen Hughes, Gail Moerkerken, Judy Stone, Emma Vandewetering and all the other great people at AAS (and their supporters) for all you have done and continue to do on behalf of animals.

I would also like to thank you all for your support in my campaign for sled dogs, it meant a lot to me over the last year to have such thoughtful and intelligent support.

Last night I watched the newly released DVD 'Amazing Grace', which is about the British politician William Wilberforce, who headed up the move to abolish human slavery in the late 1700's (and won the fight).

I believe it was also mentioned in the movie that he founded the RSPCA. There are all types of animals featured in scenes inside the Wilberforce home throughout the movie, which was good to see. In the opening scene, Wilberforce stops his carriage to help an exhausted horse who is being whipped and kicked by his masters.

I saw a lot of parallels in the movie about our right to use those who are powerless to defend themselves from being used by man for work or entertainment (sled dogs, racing greyhounds, rodeo animals and carriage horses immediately come to mind).

In the Christmas season (and all year), I ask all animal lovers to generously support the BC Animal Advocates.
