Yet another caution regarding items made in China - this time it's dog and cat toys

Yet another caution regarding items made in China - this time it's dog and cat toys. An investigation has shown that there are no controls in Canada and the U.S. that identify harmful substances in toys sold for pets.

The same type of lead paint and other deadly 'ingredients' that have now been pulled from children's toys are still being used in the manufacturing of animal toys and treat balls, including the Kong products.

I second your move, Judy, and am also no longer buying products from China. I worry, however, about those unethical companies who sneak in under the radar as you mentioned, and finish the product here in North America in order to put a more desirable label on their product. The other concern is that even in our country, there are no restrictions or guidelines on what dangerous elements are included in animal products.

We who love and care for our pets are at the mercy of far too many companies who care only for their bottom line of profit.
