Two days later, the Humane Society also posted that the lawsuit was being handled on a CONTINGENCY basis - no win, no money for the lawyer. Marla was genuinesly distressed when I told her about how this business operates - she had no idea. She just saw the word "rescue" and assumed it was legit. She subsequently phoned the HS and said how sorry she was, and cooperated with their rebuttal letter.
