So, once again an irresponsible person has caused serious harm to a child to say nothing of the fact that his/her dog(s) will likely lose their lives. Isn't it time that the irresponsible people are held accountable for their action or, in this case, lack of. Seems to me a hefty fine - maybe $25,000 - a prohibition for life against having animals and at least a year in jail might encourage people to think twice about how they "look after" their "pets" - seems to me it might discourage folks who don't care enough to look after them properly.
