"BC SPCA encourages other rodeos to follow Cloverdale's lead

Rodeo season in British Columbia is here and the BC SPCA would like to remind the public that many rodeo events inflict fear and pain upon the animals involved.

At least one rodeo in the province has taken meaningful steps to reduce this suffering, by eliminating the worst events. Last year, the Cloverdale Rodeo announced it would discontinue calf roping, team roping, steer wrestling and wild cow milking. Other rodeos in Canada may soon follow their lead."
