500-700 cats all together and yet they look healthy. Maybe giving them as natural a life as possible truly is the best thing for them. I hope this video helps give impetus to a move away from the traditional shelter model of cages and isolation. (Isolation when they're sick is another matter. But even then, being in a small cage is not conducive to recovery if they're at all mobile.) Surely the public must begin recognizing the traditional shelter model as the 'pest control' mentality of pounds of the past. When you talk about shelters where they live in cages, you really have to put the word "shelter" in quotation marks if you believe a shelter is for the animals' benefit.
