Hi Everyone: I too am disappointed about the Chilliwack Chihuahuas being returned.
From what I can gather from talking to Eileen Drever, the SPCA sets its policies and it is due to money, budget restraints, and time. I know when the Kelowna SPCA busted the mill and we had Chihuahuas that came to rescue, we were told up front if the owners pay the fine the dogs go back, so they don't fight it because of the money that has to be spent.
It is one of their policies. They need to change their policies and the law also needs to be tightened up with respect to this. I agree with all the fosters and all the rescue groups as one of our rescue members and myself are the ones that reported this mill to the spca for help to stop this woman.
Is there anyway that legal advice that Animal Advocates has challenge the SPCA regarding this matter? Just curious.
I thank all of you that care regarding these chis and all the other animals you have helped, please don't give up this is just a road block but all of us have to be persistent and keep going. We can make a difference it will happen!
Take Care,
Lisa
