Unfortunately it is not.
What we might face is not a ban on chihuahas, which btw actuall is a silly remark. What we might face is more problems insuring dogs and homes. Problems bringing dogs on public transportations, licenses to breed dogs which only serves as a hidden taxation, bans from owning more than one dog and so on. Not problems for you and me. At least not today but as the limitations increase problems will arise and it will have severe consequenses.
To me we it is clear that dog owners must start fending for themselves and not accept our rights being taken away from us because there are a few rotten apples in the basket. We must also start to speak out about what the real problem is, irresponsible breeding and ownership and of course, the main problem, irresponsible media coverage that makes the wrong people want to own a dog thus being the underlying reason behind the problem.
Pointing fingers will not lead to a positive result. It will only make us dog owners weaker as a group and the problems harder to solve.
