To: BC SPCA
I have read an article in the Times Colonist that a volunteer in your Delta branch had been laid off for abducting Cheech to save his life
My sympathy is all for her and the dog Cheech
I have been a regular donor to the SPCA for years and I think is about time you got some new judges and fired the 4 men who said Cheech should be put down and it is clear that they are incapable of judging anything This is a little dog who has never bitten anybody. He is still a puppy and if he were aggressive as they claim they would have to have proof that he has bitten somebody. It is clear he is afraid of men as one of them has abused him. He is only standing up for his own rights to protect himself He cannot be labelled a vicious dog.
It is the responsibility of the SPCA to see the former owner is never allowed to have another dog. It is well known the way to make a dog vicious is to mistreat it as a puppy. It is his right to defend himself when he if frightened .
As a member of Greater Victoria Animals' Crusaders I object to this totally ridiculous attitude of your judges.
I am the owner of a Rottweiler and they are a very clever reasonable dog.
Cheech is still young enough to be trained out of his defensive attitude.
Muir should be allowed to keep him.
The SPCA has acted foolishly and irresponsibly in suspending their valued employees and volunteers. Miss Muir should not be accused of theft as she has clearly saved this dog
This dog has a right to live and is not a threat to any human being as claimed by your judges committee
So do away with all your charges against Amanda Muir and her other friends and get back to the business at hand.
