In June 2004, I filled out an SPCA application for membership form and sent it off with the obligatory $10.00 cheque.
On June 17th, the SPCA cashed my cheque, but by mid August, had not sent me a membership card.
I sent them a short, friendly note inquiring about the membership card. I got no reply.
In September, I sent them a registered letter, inquiring about my membership card, and my membership status. They ignored that too.
I left a message on their voice mail and did not receive a reply.
I left a message for Cindy Miller who is "in charge of memberships." No reply.
Last week, I reached Ms. Miller on the phone. She refused to talk with me and kept repeating that she is only in charge of processing.
Then she said I should speak with Simon Trevelyan, BC SPCA Revenue Development.
I left a message on October 7th with Mr. Trevelyan - I said that I expected either my membership card, or my money back, with an explanation.
I said that they could not both keep my money AND refuse me membership.
Guess what? No reply.
